BEGINNING THE JOURNEY
We are honored to help our teens prepare for the sacraments of Reconciliation & Eucharist. Here at Prince of Peace, our teens preparing for Reconciliation & Eucharist go to a retreat and learn about the sacraments in small groups led by an adult. While preparing for these sacraments, our teens will be strengthened in their relationship with God and the other teens throughout their participation in Connect, Prodigal Retreat, and Altaration. These are the three formation components for teens preparing for Reconciliation & Eucharist.
"Connect" is the exciting, inspiring and community building formation program for all 6th - 12th grade youth, complete with music, challenging and formative keynote speakers, small groups, games, food, and Jesus in the Eucharist!
Prodigal Retreat: one-night retreat about Reconciliation held at Camp Allen. Teens explore the 4 parts of the sacrament of Reconciliation during the retreat: Contrition, Confession, Absolution, & Penance.
Our teens learn about the beauty of the Mass through the Altaration series from Ascension Press. They meet with their same small group and small group leader from Prodigal Retreat on 5 Wednesday evenings following Prodigal Retreat.
Here at Prince of Peace, our Christian Initiation Ministry recognizes that not everyone's faith journey looks the same. So whatever the situation, we're here to assist each individual on their unique journey. If you have questions or concerns about the process, just let us know.
TAKING THAT FIRST STEP
Register your teen for Connect
Register your teen for Prodigal Retreat
(You can do this at the same time you register for Connect by clicking “Register for another Event” on the checkout page. Registering your teen for Prodigal Retreat covers the fees and preparation for both Reconciliation & Eucharist.)
All teen events will be in English, but the parent sessions will always have both an English and a Spanish session. Formation is both for the teens AND the parents – each time the teens meet, we will have something for the parents at the same time. Parents are expected to attend all of these parent sessions.
(Calendar will be explained in detail at Information Session.)
