A group of 12 individuals makes 12 brown bag lunches at their homes on their assigned each week and brings them to the Mercy Center on Thursdays by 4:30 pm.
One volunteer picks up the 144 meals on Fridays by 10 am and delivers them downtown to the out-patient psychiatric center for the homeless for their lunch
There are four teams and each team makes sandwiches once every four weeks on Thursdays at 4:30pm. A volunteer delivers the sandwiches to the center Friday mornings.
You would join a dedicated group of 12 Prince of Peace parishioners each week who generously make 12 lunches to feed the homeless being served by an out-patient mental health care center located in downtown Houston.
If you are 18 years old and above, our archdiocese requires all adult volunteers to complete safe environment training.
This short one-hour online training teaches people how to create a secure and protected environment for everyone, especially children, by recognizing and preventing potential risks or harm.
