Pastoral Care Office Volunteer Ministry
About
We offer our time and assistance to help support and care for individuals and families in the community, providing comfort, guidance, and practical help when needed.
Have Questions?What We Do
We respond to individuals phone calls, emails and in-person visits and make arrangements to meet their needs, e.g., for anointings, house blessings, and Eucharistic visits to the homebound.
We assist those who wish to pre-plan their funerals or to plan funeral services for a loved one they have lost.
We provide referrals for specialized assistance when necessary, e.g., spiritual direction or counseling.
Who Can Serve
Anyone 18 and up with a compassionate heart and familiarity (not expertise) with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Each volunteer works a morning (8:30 am - 12:30 pm) or afternoon (12:30-4:30 pm) shift, typically once a week. The shift time does not need to be the same every week.
A Signup Genius page is used to select shifts. On rare occasions, a volunteer may also assist after hours or on weekends, e.g., to help with a funeral planning meeting.
Why You Should Serve
To extend love, comfort, and understanding to those in need, fostering a stronger and more caring community.
Complete Safe Environment Training
If you are 18 years old and above, our archdiocese requires all adult volunteers to complete safe environment training.
This short one-hour online training teaches people how to create a secure and protected environment for everyone, especially children, by recognizing and preventing potential risks or harm.
