Health and Wellness Ministry
Welcome!
About
We bring together nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals who share health-related information with the parish community during Fellowship Sundays, as well as offer their expertise for emergency assistance during Mass.
Have Questions?Who We Serve
Individuals with medical expertise as a nurse or doctor serve individuals and families in the parish community who are seeking health-related information and resources, or are in need of emergency assistance while at Mass.
Request Assistance from Our Ministry
When you request assistance from our ministry, you'll have access to resources, education, and support within the Catholic parish community that provides for your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, and fosters a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.
Request Assistance from Our MinistryIn the event of a medical emergency during Mass or parish event, call 911 and then ask an usher, sacristan or Prince of Peace representative for assistance.
Volunteer with the Health and Wellness Ministry
Any healthcare professional
We provide health-related information and resources at Fellowship Sondays, and provide medical assistance at Mass as needed.
During Fellowship Sonday, any health fair, or as-needed basis.
You will support the physical and spiritual well-being of the whole community, promoting holistic health and demonstrating God’s love through compassionate care.
If you are 18 years old and above, our archdiocese requires all adult volunteers to complete safe environment training.
This short one-hour online training teaches people how to create a secure and protected environment for everyone, especially children, by recognizing and preventing potential risks or harm.

Olivia Tamboong, RN: “Volunteering for the POP Health and Wellness Ministry is an extension of my vocation as a nurse that also gives me a sense of purpose, fulfillment and hopefully, I can help educate our POP Parishioners by decreasing complications of common diseases such as Hypertension, Diabetes and Heart Disease. It widens my network medically and socially. It also gives me a sense of purpose, promotes exceptional sense of camaraderie and is also another way to serve the community while having fun.”
Alicia Melendres-DeAsis, RN: “I enjoy volunteering to promote awareness of Health and Wellness among our parishioners to make better lifestyle choices. We provide services such as Blood Pressure checks, Blood Sugar checks, Counseling, Education through handouts, relating to health and referrals.”
Ging Petty, RN: “I have been a volunteering for the Health and Wellness Ministry for over 10 years now. Nurses as a whole are big promoters of disease prevention and health education. That is what we focus mostly when we serve during POP Fellowship Sundays through Blood Pressure screening and health counseling. I believe that the knowledge God allowed me to gain professionally is meant to be shared in His body, the church and it gives me great pleasure and satisfaction to serve my fellow parishioners in this manner.”
