Learn More about our Alpha Course
The Alpha Course is a series of sessions which includes a meal, a video, and a small group discussion where you will be able to ask your questions as you explore the basics of the Christian perspective, addressing questions like ‘Who is Jesus?’, ‘How can I have faith?’ and ‘Does God heal today?’
Because it’s a welcoming and safe space to explore questions about life, faith, and spirituality while building meaningful relationships with others.
An Alpha session is two hours. You come for a meal, watch a short video, and share your thoughts on the talk with your table (who you will meet at the first session).
Most people come nervous! So no worries.
During the discussion portion of the session, you can ask your new small group of friends any questions you want. You are also free to simply listen. Your small group host will ensure the discussions are respectful and end on time.
The Alpha course is as long as you want it to be but there are 11 weekly sessions that guests can attend if they choose.
Great news! Alpha is free. However, we do share a simple meal each week so there’s an opportunity to offer a donation to help offset the cost of food if you would like.
Yes! Most people come to Alpha without knowing anybody else on the course. By the end of the course, most people become good friends. Alpha is a great way to meet new people!
No! You may remain silent if you wish.
Yes! Just register to let us know you’re coming (so we have enough food prepared for you).
At any point, if you think Alpha isn’t for you, that’s not a problem. There’s no pressure and we won’t follow up with you.
It doesn’t matter if you missed the first week of Alpha – you can catch up online. Anyone is able to register up until session 3 (week 3); after that we would encourage you to check back on this website and sign up for our next Alpha course, and start from session 1 (week 1) as the session themes build upon each other.
Anyone!
Alpha would not be able to happen without the help of an amazing team! Alpha Team members come together with the goal of doing whatever they can to help people navigate their questions about God, life and meaning in an environment that is comfortable, meaningful and fun to be in.
We are always looking for new people to join the Alpha Team. If you are interested, send us a message! We’d love to chat.
Before each Alpha course, there is a one day training.
Volunteers serve on Alpha nights on Mondays 6:30-8:30 pm.
Each Alpha course is about 11 weeks with a Saturday day retreat.
Volunteering for an Alpha is a great way to help people explore their faith, build strong relationships, and discover the love and hope that comes from a personal relationship with Jesus.
Our archdiocese requires all volunteers 18 and up to complete safe environment training.
This short one-hour online training teaches people how to create a secure and protected environment for everyone, especially children, by recognizing and preventing potential risks or harm.
