We participate in activities, learn important life skills, and engage in service projects to develop our character, leadership abilities, and a sense of belonging within a supportive and values-based organization.
Because it offers opportunities for personal growth, character development, and building lifelong friendships through a variety of engaging activities and a supportive community.
Maggie Barth: “I joined American Heritage Girls when I was in kindergarten. This is my eleventh year in the program and I have loved every minute of it! AHG has not only taught me many valuable skills and lessons but has brought me some of my best friends and most treasured memories. Everything we do is deeply rooted in the Christian faith through prayer, scripture, and service projects, and I can confidently say that it has changed my relationship with God for the better. AHG truly lives up to its mission statement of “Building women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country.” In AHG I’ve taken on many responsibilities such as leading songs and skits, planning troop events, and leading my unit in badge requirements. These kinds of activities have taught me how to organize and lead well, be more responsible, and communicate better, and I’ve had a lot of fun along the way as well. For girls of all ages, AHG is an amazing opportunity to make new friends, deepen your relationship with Christ, and learn skills that you can apply anywhere in life.”
Genevieve Troquille: “We initially joined AHG because it seemed like a place where my girls could develop interesting skills and join in a lot of different activities all in one “thing.” Troop members can participate in as little or as much as their family is able. This has been so helpful to me in balancing the ups and downs of family life. What we found in Troop 2928 was so much more than a solution to our extracurriculars problem. We found a safe place for our girls to build character and grow quality friendships. Whether they are doing science, crafts, service projects, something outdoors, or any exciting miscellany, the programs all very intentionally point to the ways God is at work in the world and in our lives. It is for me the answered prayer of an anxious mom wanting to know how to raise just the sort women our world will need.”
