What is the Gabriel Project?

Volunteers called "Gabriel Angels" provide emotional, practical, and spiritual support to women experiencing crisis pregnancies. Our goal is for these women feel loved and a sense of community from their experiences with their Gabriel Angels! We help approximately 100 pregnant women each year.

How Can I Help?

We are always in need of items for our expectant mothers.

New baby clothes

Infant car seats

Portable cribs or pack-n-plays

Bath products for babies

Baby blankets or quilts

Items may be brought to the Mercy Center receiving door, Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. You may also bring items to the Parish Office or the ushers at weekend Masses.

Become a Gabriel Angel

Provide face-to-face support and prayer for an expectant mother during her pregnancy and help her find the support (material, emotional, medical and spiritual) she needs during the difficult times. Time commitment varies depending on each mother's needs, number of mother's in the program, and number of active volunteers. Training is provided.

Mother’s Day Baby Shower -  Each year in May, our Gabriel Project Angels host a shower for pregnant women in need and their babies. Parishioners are invited to show support by donating new or very gently used baby items. Some of the items we recommend bringing are clothing (up to 18 mos.), car seats (mfd. less than 5 years ago), cribs/pac ‘n plays, toiletries, pacifiers, blankets, towels, crib sheets, Desitin, diapers, bottles, and teething toys.

Baby Bottle Project -  Each year in October, our Gabriel Project Angels host a fundraiser for pregnant women in need and their babies. Our Gabriel Angels distribute baby bottles outside the church, and parishioners are invited to show support by taking one home and filling it with spare change, bills, checks or whatever they would like to include. Two weeks later, the bottles are returned to the Gabriel Angels at the doors of the church.
