UPDATE FROM FR.JOHN

Dear POP Folks,

18.1.JPG

As we continue to dry out from Harvey’s attacks, many members of our community are returning to their homes. Please keep in your prayers those who are staying with family or friends or at area hotels. We are also praying for those who have lost their automobiles, their places of employment and their entire neighborhoods.

This morning we celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving for deliverance from the storm and that God has brought us safely to this moment. All three of our priests, together with many of our deacons and a large community from Prince of Peace and St. Ignatius joined in the Mass, which was transferred to the main church to accommodate the number of worshippers. Song and accompaniment helped us to celebrate God’s goodness as we begged for his mercy. Following Mass, prayer teams were available to pray with people and two confessionals were opened for those desiring Reconciliation.

This Week:

9:00 a.m. Thursday Mass in Main Church, followed by confessions. The parish offices will be open until 4:30 p.m.  5:30 p.m. Confessions as usual. No 7:00 p.m. Spanish Mass.
