Since 1995, American Heritage Girls (AHG) has been growing across the US as more families have sought a character development program for girls that embraces Christian values and encourages family involvement. With troops in all 50 states, AHG found a home at Prince of Peace in 2010. Our troop (TX2928) serves 80+ girls in kindergarten through high school and is recognized as a strong, model troop in Southeast Texas. While there is plenty of interaction between girls of different ages, the troop is organized into five distinct age-based levels.

Members participate in activities that include age-appropriate opportunities for social and spiritual development, acquisition of life skills, camping and team-building activities, leadership roles, and central to it all, service to the community. Older girls take more control of their program, with the Girl Leadership Team (representatives from grades 7-12) steering much of the troop's activity. Badge programs promote learning about the arts, science and technology, the outdoors, personal well-being, citizenship, and family living. Religious award programs, weekly prayer, and other opportunities exist for growing as Christ-followers and finding God's will. Multi-troop, state, and national events are available as well, including summer resident camp and high adventure trips. Faith, service, and fun - that's what AHG is all about!
